I am thankful and happy about the 33* temperature we had this morning. The ground was all covered in frost and Megan insisted that it had snowed. The grass "crunched" when you walked on it. It was awesome!
... which reminds me, I have to buy Megan a winter coat.

I am thankful for my children's excitement. I've had no interest or motivation to decorate for Christmas... but their energy and excitement put me in the spirit today.
Lord, please give me the tools I need to raise this child. Please give me the STRENGTH to remain calm. Please give me the WISDOM to find the right words to say. Please fill me with the KNOWLEDGE of the best way help him. Please give me PERSISTENCE to follow through. Please, Lord, give me PATIENCE.
I beg you.... Guide me as a parent.... to mold this child into a happy, sane, productive, responsible, respectable adult.
This year, instead of the usual Advent calendar, we are going to make and use a Jesse Tree. We have a beautiful one every year at church... with white and gold ornaments that were very lovingly handmade by some of the Ladies of the Altar Guild. But ours will be a little more "homespun". :) I found one I like at this website.

Today I am thankful that my WI family all seem to have had a successful Opening Weekend deer hunting. As my sister said.... Deer = Food. One deer = nutritious and filling meals for the first half of the winter. There are seven days left to the season, so it is possible they will each get another deer or two, which will stock their freezers well into Spring.
Thank you, Lord, for the bounty you have provided my family... these animals did not die in vain, but rather gave their lives so that my family can live.
I received my party pack for the wii "Just Dance 2" party I'm hosting on Nov 20th. They included a surprise bonus game, "Just Dance Kids". There are a number of songs for little kids, but there are also just as many songs for older kids and adults. FUN FUN FUN. :)

I am thankful for the Green Bay Packers. I LOVE this team. In good times and in bad. The tradition, the story, the Legend that is Lambeau... all of it. They make me smile and they make me happy. Win or lose (although I prefer it when they win!). I love this organization.

I am thankful for my husband...
I had some girl friends over tonight, and he wasn't here. Usually he's hovering around in the background, making sure the food doesn't run out, refilling drinks for the Ladies, etc.
But tonight, he had to work and wasn't here for my get-together. And he was missed. Not only by me... my girlfriend even mentioned how strange it was that he wasn't there. :)
I love you honey, and I'm so grateful and thankful for all you do!
